Engineering

Developing engineering solutions to complex problems through characterizing the mechanical, thermal, physical and chemical properties of advanced materials.

  • Understanding materials behavior in extreme environments
  • Capabilities to evaluate a broad range of engineering properties and materials
  • Thermal range from cryogenic temperatures to more than 5,000°F
  • Process and fabrication development
  • Systems development for measurement, instrumentation, imaging and analysis
  • Nondestructive Characterization and Metrology
  • ISO 9001 Registered

The Engineering Division is developing new, low-cost processes to produce carbon/carbon and polymer matrix composite materials and aerogels (ultra-light foam), as well as processing methods to fabricate these materials for a wide variety of applications from automotive and recreational products to the most advanced aerospace applications.

Our Systems Development Department develops unique image analysis algorithms and systems, including tracking instrumentation, for military and commercial applications, designs and builds special airborne instrumentation systems, and develops precision stabilized platforms and other electro-mechanical systems for a wide variety of applications.
